Reflective Essay

        Before taking this composition course, I had never heard of the self-designed webpage Wix. It was until the teacher introduced this page and asked us to upload our works on it as a document of our own learning path, I, as a hopeless technobimbo, started learning how to get used to Wix.

        With the long-time-ago experience of establishing a personal blog because of the requirement of computer course in the elementary school, I at first thought designing Wix would not be a difficult task to me. However, the whole process of getting used to this website is a trial and error though we always blessedly have teaching assistants giving advices or explaining the mechanism. I remember I once regretted to the background style of a little area and wanted to change it back to the original one; however, I clicked almost every icon displaying on the editing plate I could find but still failed to change the background I wanted. At the end, I sighed, giving in to it, and changed the whole page’s background in order to match the little area’s.

        Besides my poor skill of handling things related to computer, it is overall a cool experience. With this additional task aside from the traditional training, this composition course is not only about writing but a chance to show our aesthetics. Also, I explored more and more functions of Wix lately, and found that designer can adjust almost everything on it; Wix is very flexible for people to create virtual secret garden. There are still many functions I haven’t tried on my page, hopefully I can have more idea about how to utilize them in the next semester.
